The Brunei dollar has been the official currency of the Sultanate of Brunei since 1967 and is issued by the Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam.
Under a Currency Interchangeability Agreement in 1967, the BND is at par and interchangeable with the SGD. The two currencies are considered ‘customary tender’ in Singapore and Brunei.
