Economical Influences on the CFP Franc Exchange Rate
If you are considering converting AUD to XPF, it’s good to get a snapshot of how the economy may influence the New Caledonian CFP franc.
A relatively small economy, New Caledonia has around 11% of the world’s nickel reserves, making this its main export.1
Almost 15% of New Caledonia’s GDP comes from financial support from France, which is only mitigated slightly by its tourism industry.1
New Caledonia’s economy is largely affected by fluctuations in the price of nickel, which have been declining since 2016.1
